What You Don’t Like, You Do Twice!


Last week, I shared with my Tuesday night class a quote from Romana, who was sharing a quote from the creator of Pilates, Joseph Pilates:

What you don’t like you do twice!

Pilates done right and taught classically is not for the faint of heart. It’s hard, it requires concentration and control, and the true benefits take a while to show up. So when people show up to my class, I know it may not have been the easy choice and for that, I am so very proud of them!

Our mind is powerful, and when left unchecked, it gravitates downwards, to complacency, mediocrity, and to deep depressions and victim mentalities.

Your current reality is a reflection of thousands of choices you make daily. The choices either elevate your life or detract from it. What you consume either adds to your health or takes away from it. Just like any other muscle, the mind too needs repetition until the better choices become second nature. It’s no secret. It is mentally easier to give in to skipping class, not making your bed, not eating well. Empower yourself with the reminder that you are in control, you have choices. Get those mental reps in, better choice after better choice, and soon your new standard way of life will be unrecognizable to your old self. To life, happiness, and choice!
